Local transfer window to close at 5pm Friday

The January domestic transfer window will close on Friday afternoon at 5pm, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) said.

"We are bound by our rules which don't allow registrations outside of office hours, nor are we allowed to go into February," PSL general manager of football, Derek Blanckensee, said in a statement on Monday.

"Naturally, the last week of the transfer window is very busy but from our side, we are adequately prepared to deal with the expected rush."

Teams wishing to buy and sell players will therefore have until Friday to do any last minute business.

In what has been a fairly quiet January transfer window to date, SuperSport United have emerged as the biggest movers, with Kaizer Chiefs' Kingston Nkhatha joining the Pretoria outfit, while New Zealand international, Jeremy Brockie, also penned a deal with Matsatsantsa.

Chiefs, meanwhile, acquired the services of Chippa United's David Zulu, while AmaZulu brought in Roscoe Pietersen from SuperSport, on loan, until the end of the season.

Usuthu also signed Mamelodi Sundowns' Bongi Ntuli on loan until the end of the 2014/15 campaign.
