'Shabba’s goal a contender for goal of the season': Komphela

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela is convinced that Siphiwe Tshabalala’s stunning goal from long range against Free State Stars should be a contender for a goal of the season.

Attacking Chiefs beat Stars 4-0 on their second Premiership clash at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.

"Shabba’s goal should be a contender for the goal of the season," Komphela said on Chiefs official website.

"People will say that Stars scored two own goals but those came due to the pressure we put on their defenders."

AmaKhosi coach raved about Tshabalala’s performance after the match for which the 30-year-old deservedly was handed over the Man-of-the-Match award.

Chiefs’ next Absa Premiership fixture is away to Polokwane City at Polokwane’s Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday evening, kick-off is at 19:30.
