SA players need to improve: Pardew

Crystal Palace head coach Alan Pardew admits South African players need to work on technical and tactical areas of the game.

Palace ran riot in the first half beating SuperSport United 4-0 in the inaugural Cape Town Cup tournament on Friday evening.

Eagles play-makers Mile Jedinak, Chung-yong Lee, Jordon Mutch and Fraizer Campbell scored in just 45 minutes before Matsatsantsa settles in.

"The standard of the opposition was probably below where they wanted to be in the first half, but in the second they did well and should have scored at least one goal," Pardew quoted saying on Cape Town Cup official website.

“I think the athleticism of South African players is there, as well as the physical side of the game, but the technical and tactical areas are what they need to improve on".
