Schalke fire Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sidney Sam

Schalke vice-captain Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sidney Sam have both been expelled by the club following a 2-0 defeat away to FC Köln at Cologne on Sunday.

According to the club website, "Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sidney Sam have been axed indefinitely from the team with immediate effect."

"Marco Höger is also suspended from training and first-team action up to and including Saturday, 16th May", the club said.

The 28-year-old Boateng has been linked with a move to China next season.
