'Tyson Gay should have been banned for life': Bolt

The Jamaican six-time Olympic gold medallist sprinter Usain Bolt says Tyson Gay should have been banned for life for doping.

"It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. The message should be: 'If you cheat, you're going to be kicked out of the sport'," Bolt was quoted saying on BBC.

American track and field sprinter Gay, who specialised in 100 and 200 meters dash had a best record of 9.69 seconds making him second fastest athlete after Bolt, failed three drugs test in 2013.

What upset Bolt was that the 32 year old American sprinter was given a mere reduced one-year ban.

Meanwhile South African sprint king Simon Magakwe has been banned for two years for refusing to submit to an out-of-competition test.
