Sundowns' move an option: Khune

Premier Soccer League moguls Mamelodi Sundowns are set to be keeping a close eye on the ongoing contract negotiations between Itumeleng Khune his club Kaizer Chiefs.

The talks between the Soweto giants Amakhosi and their number one keeper Khune have attracted a lot of attention with the club's fans crossing fingers in hopes that the two will reach an agreement that will be beneficial for both the player and the club.

The 27 year-old has admitted that he will have to make a big career decision should Amakhosi decide not to extend his contract.

Asked about the interest Sundowns has shown in signing him, Khune said that although moving to the Chloorkop outfit is an option he did not want to entertain it as he is still a Chiefs player.

"I wouldn't say [moving to a different local club] is not an option, but I wouldn't want to entertain other clubs more because I am still contracted to Kaizer Chiefs," he told KickOff.

"But I liked what Oupa Manyisa said on the previous cover of KICK OFF – 'Football is business'. I think it is about time footballers tell the truth…"
