Innovative boxing promoter Ayanda Matiti says each bout in his five-championship tournament is so fascinating in quality that it could well be the main bout.

The East London-based boss of Xaba Promotion is in the midst of organising the fifth edition of his Night of Champions series at the Orient Theatre on Eastern Beach in East London on April 24.

The main attraction is between Malcolm Klassen and Xolani Mcotheli. Klassen is the dazzling former two-time IBF and WBF junior lightweight.

He added the WBO lightweight strap to his collection last weekend, while Mcotheli holds the IBO International junior lightweight belt. They will fight for the vacant IBO Intercontinental junior lightweight belt.

Mcotheli made an impression with his ability when he won the IBO's "B" grade belt against previously undefeated competitive Marbon Bodiongan from the Philippines in December.

Fan favourite Makazole Tete - the explosive IBO International and WBA Pan African flyweight titlist - will oppose Renz Rosia from the Philippines in a fight for the vacant IBO Intercontinental belt.

Matiti said he was preparing Tete for a showdown with reigning IBO flyweight world champion Moruti Mthalane.

Knockout artist Macbute Sinyabi - who also commands huge support in East London - will feature in an IBO International vacant title fight against Rosia's countryman Randy Braga.

"We are negotiating for a rematch between Macbute and IBO featherweight world champ Lusanda Komanisi. So it is appropriate that Macbute wins the International title in order to make himself eligible to challenge Lusanda," explained Matiti.

Sinyabi, who has 19 knockouts from 24 wins in 28 bouts, is basking in glory after finishing on top of his featherweight division in the Premier Boxing League, although he is yet to be paid his prize money of R200000 by tournament organiser Dicksy Ngqula.

Tsiko Mulovhedzi - currently the only national champion from Limpopo - will bid for the fourth defence of his welterweight belt against former SA and WBF Intercontinental junior welterweight champion Mzolisi Yoyo. Luyanda Mvula will put his SA junior flyweight title on the line against former holder Bongani Silila.
