WITH Premier Soccer League clubs notorious for quickly showing coaches the door at the slightest dip in form, AmaZulu are keeping faith with coach Craig Rosslee and his technical team.

AmaZulu, who lost 2-0 to Bidvest Wits in Johannesburg on Friday, are rooted to the bottom of the log with three points from seven matches.

They are the only PSL team yet to record a win, but there are clubs above them that have already fired their coaches.

Usuthu spokesman Philani Mabaso said the club's directors have faith in Rosslee, and pointed out that the club has never been one to hire and fire coaches at the drop of a hat.

AmaZulu coaches were judged on long-term results dating back from the previous season.

The directors "are fully supportive of Craig Rosslee and his technical team. They are going to use all means possible and try to maximise all the resources available so they can help the technical team change the fortunes of the club," Mabaso said.

"There was a time when we were rock-bottom when the club was coached by Neil Tovey but somehow we contrived a way of finishing ninth on the log at the end of the season.

"We also went to the Telkom Cup semifinals and were the losing finalists in the Nedbank Cup. When Roger Palmgren was coach, we were patient with him and held out until 12 games into the season when he [was] released after that."

AmaZulu had a poor run in cup competitions last year and aim to improve on that front this season.

This starts in earnest on Saturday evening when they face Bloemfontein Celtic in the Telkom Knockout at Princess Magogo Stadium.

Mabaso said Rosslee's fate will not necessarily hinge on cup success, with a decent runin at least one of the two cup competitions part of the club's goals for the season.
