WING Lwazi Mvovo will make his first start of the northern hemisphere tour on the left when the Springboks meet Wales at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday.

Mvovo is one of the five changes to the starting line-up from the side that beat Italy 22-6 at the weekend, and along with opposite wing Cornal Hendricks and fullback Willie le Roux make up a new back three from last week.

Bryan Habana and JP Pietersen were not available for this clash because it falls outside the prescribed Test window and have returned to their French and Japanese clubs respectively, which paved the way for Mvovo and Hendricks.

The rest of the changes see a return for Le Roux, who was rested last week, and loose head Tendai Mtawarira and hooker Bismarck du Plessis for Trevor Nyakane and Adriaan Strauss respectively.

Mvovo, 28, will earn his 10th Test cap and his first since an eye-catching display against Scotland in June, where he scored two tries, including a superb long range effort.

The only change to the bench sees Western Province centre Damian de Allende return for the first time since starting against Argentina in Salta in August.

De Allende, 23, enjoyed a good Super Rugby tournament but suffered a knee injury just before the June internationals and was rushed into service in the opening two games of the Rugby Championship.

He was clearly not fully fit and struggled in those two matches - a fact that coach Heyneke Meyer admitted yesterday.

"I am worried that Damian will be a little rusty, but he is a bright prospect. He suffered an injury at a critical time and I played him in two games when he still wasn't at his best and still injured. So it has been tough for him," Meyer said."
