THE Blue Bulls are set to pull out all the stops to ensure that they are in with a good chance of clinching the Currie Cup title after a five-year drought.

After playing a pivotal part in the Springboks' victory over the All Blacks at the weekend with two tries, little time was wasted at Loftus in drafting flyhalf Handre Pollard back into the Bulls' Currie Cup squad as the competition reaches the business end.

The 20-year-old No10 sat out of training yesterday at the Bulls headquarters after rejoining the side following the Boks' 27-25 win against New Zealand at Ellis Park on Saturday.

Pollard was resting his foot yesterday after a soft- tissue injury from the Rugby Championship clash, but will be revising the Bulls drills from today and coach Frans Ludeke is highly likely to pick the SA under-20 captain for their Currie Cup match against the Griquas this weekend in the last round of matches before the knockout stages.

Jacques-Louis Potgieter, who also did not train with the side yesterday due to a contusion, has led the Bulls with aplomb from flyhalf, particularly in their 37-6 win over the Pumas this season.

But the experienced flyhalf is likely to be relegated to the bench to make way for the in-form Pollard.

With the fourth-placed Bulls desperate to clinch a semifinal spot and to reclaim a title they last won in 2009, Ludeke will want Pollard to bring the magic that saw him take the international stage by storm and the Junior Boks to the Junior World Cup final to the Bulls side.
