MAMELODI Sundowns expect a flurry of requests from rival Premier Soccer League clubs who want players on loan from the Brazilians to face their parent club this season.

The defending champions have already shown that they will allow the players to play against them, for a fee. The amount, according to one club official, is anything between R200000 and R1-million.

Earlier in the season, Maritzburg United coach Steve Komphela slammed the loan policy when he could not field Kwanda Mngonyama, Abel Mabaso and Sibusio Kumalo - the trio released by Sundowns to gain regular game time at the KwaZulu-Natal side - in their opener at Loftus.

That might change when the two sides meet up again in an Absa Premiership clash on December 16.

Farook Kadodia, the Maritzburg chairman, said they had not yet received confirmation from Sundowns that the loan policy has been overturned.

"We have only heard the statement from the media and felt there was no urgency as yet because we are only playing them in December. I think Sundowns will have to give us a letter to confirm that they have no issues with these guys playing," said Kadodia.

Sundowns' change of heart was set in motion by their president Patrice Motsepe last month when he urged his administrators to re-look the club's loan policy. Soon after Motsepe's remarks, Bloemfontein Celtic, who also borrowed from the champions, were allowed to use Musa Nyatama last week against them.

"But it was no more than a coincidence," said Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco. "The players are allowed to play, but there has to be a fee. If you don't want to pay, then you can't field that player against Sundowns or any parent club. Wits and SuperSport also have a similar agreement."

Rookies Chippa United, will also be reaching out to Sundowns ahead of their October 22 league fixture .
