Fake tickets holders warned

TICKETS to Saturday's MTN8 final between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are being resold at grossly inflated prices.

Greedy touts are cheekily using the social networking sites to advertise their business. Sowetan learnt yesterday that the PSL is on the trail of several touts after discovering that Twitter, Facebook and other networking sites are being used to resell R80 unreserved tickets for as high as R600.

It is a criminal offence to resell tickets. Some Twitter users went as far as tweeting pictures of themselves clutching the tickets as proof to prospective buyers.

The PSL is also bracing itself for counterfeit tickets. PSL general manager for safety Phillip Masimong said they would work with the police to deal with the scourge.

Scanners will be operational at the stadium and those with fake tickets will be arrested. PSL communications head Connie Motshumi said the challenges associated with a Chiefs versus Pirates final are partly the reason behind tickets going on sale as late as possible.
