JOMO Cosmos are temporarily relocating to Vanderbijlpark in the Vaal where they will play their five opening National First Division home league matches.

Cosmos manager Bamuza Sono said their new home, the 15000-seat Fezile Dabi Sports Complex in Tumahole in Free State, was not ready for use. They will use Vaal University of Technology's Isak Steyl Stadium in the meantime, starting with Sunday's match against Black Leopards.

"We have been informed the stadium will not be ready for use for our five opening matches, they are doing the final touch-ups on it," explained Sono yesterday.

"That is why we have decided to use Vaal University of Technology for the time being.

"Playing at the university is also a great platform for us to market the team and we hope students there will come in droves to support us."

On the game against Leopards, Sono said: "We expect a tough one after Leopards were defeated 1-0 by Golden Arrows in their opening match last weekend.

"For us the plan for the season is to do well. Naturally, we want to win the league and go back to the Premier Soccer League.

"We have assembled a good squad that will definitely challenge for promotion, but we are not going to put the boys under pressure.

"The coach [Jomo Sono] told them that we need to take one game at a time to achieve that. We do not want to lose focus."

Cosmos played to a goalless draw against promoted Highlands Park in Tembisa in their opening match of the season at the weekend.
