Henyekane keen on Maritzburg

MAMELODI Sundowns' pacy marksman Richard Henyekane could be on the move again.

Henyekane was on loan at Free Stars last season but is now keen to join Maritzburg United after realising he is still surplus to requirements at the star-studded Sundowns.

"We have already spoken to Sundowns and although we are waiting for them to come back from their tour in Zimbabwe, we don't see any problems getting our man," said United's chairman Farook Kadodia yesterday.

The former Golden Arrows striker joined Downs two seasons ago but was off-loaded to Stars on loan last season, where he scored seven goals in 15 starts.

He returned to Chloorkop at the end of his loan deal in May but Henyekane is clearly still without a place after coach Pitso Mosimane left him out of the team that travelled to Zimbabwe for a pre-season training camp.

He is one of at least 20 players who were loaned out by Sundowns and will find it hard to establish themselves after the team won the PSL championship last season.

Kadodia believes the speedy Kimberley-born striker will be a match winner in Pietermaritzburg.

"I was impressed with his performances last season and I think he could be what we have been looking for to bolster our strike force."

Sundowns' highly rated Togolese international Dove Wome also seems to have a foot out of the door.
