Cosmos' duo put on transfer

NATIONAL First Division (NFD) side Jomo Cosmos have put their defender and former South African Under-23 player Gladwin Shitolo and goalkeeper Tsatsi Theletsane on transfer.

Cosmos boss Jomo Sono said they have decided to put the duo on transfer as he deemed them surplus to the team's requirements for the new season.

The release of Shitolo did not come as a surprise following last week's speculation that he was interested in joining Polokwane City.

Shitolo wants to relocate to Limpopo to be with his family.

Apparently the player was under the impression that his contract with Ezenkosi had expired, but Sono was quick to point out that the Limpopo-born player was still in their books.

"We have an option on the contract, which was exercised by the club," Sono said. He said he will also go out of the country this week to assess some of the players he is eyeing to join the club.

"I won't mention names until I have signed them. I won't be signing a lot of players, in fact I have a space for only three. I'm happy I have a team that will compete for promotion next season.

"The players that we have in the team are now experienced to deal with the NFD pressure," he said.

Cosmos will start with their pre-season training tomorrow.

Meanwhile, defender Walter Maponyane is still undecided about returning to Chippa United where he was on loan last season from Mamelodi Sundowns.

The player's agent Jazzman Mahlakgane confirmed that United want the player.

"I still need to have a meeting with him to discuss the interest from Chippa," Mahlakgane said.
