Furman's Rovers in relegation trouble

BAFANA Bafana midfielder Dean Furman faces the very real prospect that he could be playing third-tier football in England again next season.

The Doncaster Rovers player is in his first season at Championship level in England, but it could be short-lived as a 0-0 draw with Millwall on Monday meant they slipped to just one point above the relegation zone.

And their last two matches of the season are at home to promotion-chasing Reading and division leaders Leicester City away on the final day, both exceptionally difficult games, though Leicester have already sealed promotion to the Premiership and could be in a party mood.

Furman played in the goalless draw at Millwall, taking his tally of appearances in the season to 33.

Tokelo Rantie was a second-half substitute on Monday as Bournemouth were held 2-2 by Ipswich Town to stay three points off the promotion play-off places with two rounds to go.

Kgosi Ntlhe, restored to the starting lineup in recent weeks, helped League One Peterborough United to a 4-1 win over Carlisle to stay on course for the promotion play-offs.

Ayanda Nkili started for the fifth time for Swedish side Orebro as they were held 2-2 at Brommapojkarna.

Anele Ngcongca was at right-back for Belgian side Genk as they upset Anderlecht 1-0 but remain bottom of the championship play-off table.

Lebogang Phiri was not involved for Brondby on Monday as they won 2-1 at Aarhus. Keegan Ritchie was not involved for Slavia Prague as they dropped into the relegation zone in the Czech republic on Monday.
