Moloi denies talk of fallout with VV

THERE is no bad blood between new Orlando Pirates coach Vladimir Vermezovic and his assistant Tebogo Moloi.

This assurance comes from Moloi himself, who told Sowetan yesterday that he is a big fan of the Serbian's coaching philosophy.

"I was surprised to read on social media and in some newspapers that coach VV and I do not see eye to eye. It's not true," said the Pirates legend.

"People who know me very well will tell you I call a spade a spade. There is no doubt we have the right man for the job, the man knows his football.

"He gives players [freedom] to express themselves, which is what we need. I usually sit down with him and discuss various issues pertaining to the club, including the things he wants from individual players and the team in general.

"VV keeps on saying he wants to see Pirates playing entertaining football with goals, reminding us that's what fans expect from the team.

"I'm surprised Kaizer Chiefs let him go, the man is good," said Moloi, adding that Pirates will be unstoppable under Vermezovic next season.

"Had VV joined us at the beginning of the season, Pirates would be sitting comfortably at the summit of the log now."

Last Friday night's Nedbank Cup game against Santos in Cape Town was the second time Moloi was left behind in an away game.

"Coach VV asked me to remain with the non-travelling players and be in charge at training, ensuring everybody was in great shape. It's part of my job," said Moloi.

"It was the second time I had to stay behind. The first time was when we went to play Mpumalanga Black Aces in Mbombela last Wednesday."
