Supersport United have decided to withdraw their offer for Kaizer Chiefs striker Lehlohonolo Majoro after it had emerged the player was no longer keen on a move to Pretoria.

The Bafana Bafana forward trained on his own yesterday, despite the fact that he is still contracted to Amakhosi until June.

Majoro did turn up at Naturena for Chiefs' morning training session - a day after snubbing what was supposed to be his unveiling at United.

But he watched from the sidelines before later posting a video at the gym by himself on Instagram, an online video-sharing social network service. Majoro posted the comment "gym session in progress ... let your work do the talking".

The former AmaZulu goal ace reversed his decision to cut short his stay with Amakhosi to join Matsatsantsa on Monday, putting a spanner in the works of what appeared to be a done deal.

United chief executive Stan Matthews said dealing with a player who had gone AWOL ahead of a press conference where Majoro was to speak about his new home was a first for the club.

"He had agreed on Friday that we could issue a statement confirming that he had signed a three-year contract with us, and we scheduled a press conference for his unveiling on Monday with his approval," explained Matthews.

"But to be honest, I have not seen the player since then. We sent him the contract and he said he was happy and would sign it. Sadly, we did not hear from him afterwards and I don't know where he is. I gave him until 6pm then we called off the deal," he said.

Matthews had been quoted by the club's media department saying Majoro had signed a pre-contract with Orlando Pirates to join the Buccaneers next season without Tim Sukazi, his representative, knowing.

However, Matthews sent a retraction claiming the press release had been sent out without his approval.

Majoro, who had informed Amakhosi he wanted out, had agreed to a swap deal involving George Maluleka, who signed a three-and-a- half-year contract with Chiefs last week and began training with the club at the weekend.

"I'm sure that won't be affected because of the good relationship we have with Kaizer Motaung," said Matthews.

Although he could still not say where Majoro is headed, Sukazi said he would not be a Chiefs player by the end of the January transfer window.
