Khune promises attacking game

BAFANA Bafana captain Itumeleng Khune has urged South Africans to rally behind the team against Spain tonight, saying the team will not disgrace them.

The goalkeeper, who is also captain of Kaizer Chiefs, said Bafana were determined to end Spain's dominance over them.

This will be the fourth meeting between the two sides with Spain having won all the matches.

"We are playing at home and are not going to defend in this game. It will be an attacking approach because our aim is to do well," said Khune.

"Spain are the reigning world champions, they have the best players who play in the best leagues in the world, so it will be a hell of a good game that people will enjoy."

He strongly warned that Spain monopoly over them will end today.

"They must just forget about the win. I want to tell our fans that we will not not disgrace them.

"After winning the Sports Star of the Year award at Sun City [on Sunday], it will be nice to win the game.

"It will be great to win the game and end the year on a high note. Doing well will also prove that Bafana Bafana are not down and out despite failing to qualify for the 2014 Fifa World Cup finals," added the dependable shot-stopper.

The much-anticipated clash kicks off at 9pm..
