Sasol powers Vision 2022

SASOL became the first financial contributors to the SA Football Association's Development Agency after they announced an injection of R3-million yesterday.

The three-year deal has enabled the giant petrochemicals company to once again commit themselves to the development of local soccer as the Development Agency is tasked with implementing Safa's Technical Master Plan, which is known as Vision 2022.

The goal of the plan is to have all Safa national teams ranked in the top-three in Africa and in the top-20 in the world over the next 10 years. "We are delighted that Sasol has become the first corporate partner in our bold vision to change football from the ground up," said Safa Development Agency CEO Robin Petersen. "Vision 2022 is going to need multiple partners for success, and we hope that Sasol's confidence in our vision will inspire others to join."

Sasol's group executive Maurice Radebe said: "We are excited about this project, which is an excellent example of how we can deliver through partnerships."

Newly elected Safa president Danny Jordaan commended Sasol for their endorsement of the Agency.

"When we were preparing to take office, we identified development as the key priority of the Safa administration. This sponsorship will inspire confidence in our Vision 2022 in the business sector, and will provide us with an important starting point for the implementation of our plan," Jordaan said.

Sasol are also Banyana Banyana sponsors.
