Legends in mood to dazzle

THE newly-assembled South African soccer legends have promised the nation an exciting game against their Italian counterparts, which they vow to win.

The two sides meet during the historic Nelson Mandela Sport and Cultural Day at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

It will be one of three high-profile international soccer and rugby matches to be played on the day.

SA legends defender Edward "MaGents" Motale said they were geared up for the game.

"We have a solid team consisting of greats like Jomo Sono, Teenage Dladla, Neil Tovey, Doctor Khumalo and Les Grobler. It will be a tough one but we won't allow the Italians to spoil the celebrations in honour of Madiba. We are going for a win, just like we did with the Germans."

Other SA players in the team include Ephraim "shaiks" Mashaba, Mark Tovey, Bhudah Mathathe and Andre Arendse.

The second soccer match of the day will feature Bafana against Burkina Faso at 3pm, with Amabhokobhoko taking on Argentina at 5pm.
