TELKOM announced a five-year partnership deal with the Premier Soccer League through it's 8.ta brand.

The role players see the partnership as opening a new era of engagement between the country's football community and the Premier Soccer League.

Jomo Cosmos owner Jomo Sono, who was present at the launch, is to be the face of the partnership in an ambassadorial role .

A TV advert will be flighted for the first time during the Soweto derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

Telkom's Themba "TK" Khumalo said football supporters would benefit through discounted deals within the different packages on offer.

These would entail being able to follow PSL teams as and when they play and be able to gather data and scores, stats, wifi and all information about the league and players.

PSL acting CEO Cambridge Mokanyane said yesterday that the new deal was part of the PSL's committed pursuit to connect with South Africa's ardent football community.
