Kaizer Chiefs makes player transfers

Abia Nale has moved to Ajax Cape Town on a loan deal until the end of the 2012/2013 season and Amakhosi announces it has signed up 20-year-old goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse

Sowetan previously reported that Nale had wanted out of Kaizer Chiefs due to a lack of game time. A source told us that the Sebokeng-born Nale, who started his career at Pirates, wanted to play more regularly, and was looking for a club that could offer this to him.

Reyaad Pieterse has been playing for Shamrock Rovers in Ireland since last February, having come out of the Bidvest Wits Academy.

  • In other news from the club, Kaizer Chiefs is celebrating Lehlohonolo Majoro becoming the first Amakhosi player to score at the African Cup of Nations since Patrick Mayo in 2004.

Unfortunately, Majoro picked up a leg injury late in the game and received seven stitches. Kaizer Chiefs tweeted: "We wish Lehlohonolo Majoro a speedy recovery from a slight injury... He has been stitched up and may miss a game or two".

Congratulations are also in order for goalie Itumeleng Khune for a second clean sheet. According to supersportblitz, this makes Khune the first keeper since Hans Vonk in 2002 to keep two successive clean sheets at an Afcon tournament.
