Leopards face relegation

BLACK leopards are now in serious danger of going back to the National First Division after suffering a 3-1 defeat at the hands of University of Pretoria at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

Big Senegalese striker Mame Niang - on loan from Pretoria neighbours SuperSport United - netted a brace, with the other goal coming from Bongani Zungu to add to Leopards' relegation blues.

Raymond Monama scored for Lidoda Duvha.

It was sweet revenge for AmaTuks, who went down to Leopards in Tshwane in December when Rodney Ramagalela scored a brace. David Radebe got the solitary goal for the home side.

"This was a team effort and I'm happy to have contributed to the success of my club. For us it will be great to finish the season well inside the top five bracket in our first season in the PSL," said Niang.

Monama, who is reportedly wanted by Bloemfontein Celtic and AmaZulu, is still optimistic his club will not be relegated to the NFD at the end of the season.

"We are not even thinking of featuring in the promotional play-offs, but we will have to work hard (to remain in the Premiership). It is unfortunate we lost to AmaTuks."
