They were being held at the Dobsonville police station and were expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court later in the day, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubele said.

He said they faced charges of trespassing and malicious damage to property.

Several other men had been arrested on similar charges and had been released on warnings. Some would appear in court on October 26.

Makhubele said further arrests were expected.

The four were part of a group of Mamelodi Sundowns supporters who vandalised the stadium when the team lost 2-0 to Moroka Swallows on September 30.

Sundowns’ fans broke through the fence at the stadium, stormed the pitch and threw vuvuzelas at coach Johan Neeskens.  

Three days later, the Premier Soccer League laid criminal charges against them.

This hooligans must be arrested, they deserve it since they are not used to winning anything, what was the pain for, Only the Champs must show their dissatisfaction, not vandalize anything though. I know the is still some loose sundonosas on the run,watch the space. Zombies are also following on the 8th december, do not think the chairman Iron Duke will talk for you this time arround,you will all be thrown in the naturena zoo and Bobby will sell you so he can payback Mbhombela money.
