Wounded Amakhosi hunt Celtic

KAIZER Chiefs have recovered from the 3-2 defeat by Orlando Pirates and hope to bounce back at the expense of Bloemfontein Celtic in Polokwane tomorrow night.

Amakhosi take on Celtic in a Premiership match at Peter Mokaba Stadium at 7.30pm.

The two sides played to a goalless draw in Bloemfontein last September.

"The defeat by Pirates is history. Despite the defeat, we are impressed by the team's spirited second-half performance on Saturday," said Chiefs general manager Bobby Motaung.

"We thank our supporters for rallying behind the team and our plan is to use the game against Celtic to get back to our winning ways."

The Free Staters are fresh from a 2-0 win over Santos and their chief executive Khumbulani Konco is confident they will sustain their winning momentum in Polokwane. Celtic defender Mulomowandau Mathoho and company will have to be at their best to prevent Lehlohonolo Majoro and Siphiwe Tshabalala from scoring.

  • Jomo Cosmos are keen to end their run for stalemates and start winning as the league campaign draws to a close, said Ezenkosi boss-coach Jomo Sono ahead of their league fixture against Moroka Swallows at Sinaba Stadium tonight (7.30pm). Cosmos will be looking for revenge after Gordon Igesund's side beat them 2-0 in the first round.

  • AmaZulu take on Wits tonight at 7.30pm at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
