THERE will be no bitter rivalry when FC AK host the rejuvenated Jomo Cosmos in a National First Division match at Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa today, Bahumi general manager Khwezi Masondo said yesterday.
Cosmos go into the 3pm match with the upper hand after their 1-0 victory over FC Cape Town over the weekend, while Bahumi are still smarting from a 3-1 defeat by Milano United.
Masondo, who once occupied the same position at Ezenkosi, said the match would not be a battle between him and Cosmos boss Jomo Sono.
"I was mentored by Bra J and as a result there is no way I can be compared with him. My former employment at Cosmos has nothing to do with this match. With regard to the match, we have great respect for Cosmos and their coach Jomo. We have prepared well and we cannot afford to lose another match. The good news for our supporters is the return of Agen Livingstone and Gert Mokoena from suspension and injury respectively," said Masondo yesterday.
Ezenkosi spokesman Lucky "Lacoste" Mhlathe said: "We will approach the match with caution considering that FC AK are still wounded from their weekend result."
Ezenkosi will rely on the likes of captain Gladwin Shitolo, Thabang Monare and Lethola "Kanu" Mofokeng for victory.
Log leaders Mpumalanga Black Aces will host bottom side Dynamos at Themba Senamela Stadium, new Dynamos head coach Owen da Gama's first match with the club.
