Rantie's Malmo takes pole position

TOKELO Rantie and his Malmo side have moved into pole position in the title race in Sweden after a 3-1 success over Djurgarden.

That result, coupled with a defeat for previous leaders Hacken, means the title is Malmo's to lose.

If they win their final two matches it means only Elfsborg, who play today, can catch them on goal difference.

If Rantie helps win the championship he will be the second South African after May Mahlangu was victorious with Helsingborg last season.

- Kagisho Dikgacoi continued his excellent form for English Championship side Crystal Palace as they won 2-1 away at Leicester City to remain in the promotion playoff places.

Palace manager Dougie Freedman left for Bolton but that hasn't hurt The Eagles, whose unbeaten run totals 10 games.

- Kgosi Ntlhe started for Peterborough United as they moved out of the relegation zone with a 3-0 home win over Derby County, but Dean Furman was dropped to the bench for Oldham Athletic as they were held 1-1 at Crawley Town.

- Bongani Khumalo's Paok were held to a 0-0 draw by Kerkrya in the Greek League, while Siyanda Xulu was again missing for Russian side FC Rostov with a thigh injury.

- Cheyne Fowler's season in Finland has come to an end with a 1-0 loss for his VPS side at home to FC Haka that sees them finish in eighth place.
