BIDVEST Wits coach Antonio Lopez Habas has no sympathy for Kaizer Chiefs.

Amakhosi take on The Clever Boys at Milpark Stadium tomorrow night in a Telkom Knockout last-16 match, just three days after six of their players returned home on a middle-of-the-night flight from Nairobi after an enervating Bafana Bafana tour to Poland and Kenya.

Chiefs tried to get the game postponed to a later date, with one of their assistant coach Doctor Khumalo claiming that it was an injustice against the club by the Premier Soccer League and the Telkom KO cup committee.

Habas said Chiefs had not been the only club that gave up players for national teams. Wits had too, but he (Habas) was not "making excuses".

"What is the problem here? We also had three players out with their national teams. We had players who represented Botswana, Zimbabwe and Malawi. But we are prepared," said Habas after training yesterday.

The Clever Boys had Tinashe Nengomasha (Zimbabwe), Ofentse Nato (Botswana) and Robin Ngalande (Malawi) away playing 2013 Nations Cup qualifiers at the weekend.

"There's no advantage on our side and we have never had problems with playing this game. The competition is here at Bidvest Stadium for 90 minutes," Habas said.

The coach also refuted claims that the match venue, which is a 5000-seater, was not suited for a Wits-Chiefs clash. The Spaniard said: "If you look at big teams around the world like Barcelona and Real Madrid, they travel to play a third division club at their own home ground. They have no problem with small grounds. Come on, let's stop making excuses and play."
