Sithole off to London for coaching course

FREE State Stars joint assistant coach Themba Sithole is going back to school.

Sithole, like his head coach Steve Komphela, is a former player of Ea Lla Koto. He left for London on Sunday night to do a Level A coaching course conducted by the England Football Association.

Stars chairman Mike Mokoena said: "Themba is one of the rising coaches in the Premier Soccer League. As one of the former players of the club who served it with aplomb we had no choice but to give him the green light to go to England.

"He will be in and out of the country for the next three years. All the coaches attending the course will be given programmes which will see them go to England once every second month.

"The fact that Themba will be attending the course in England will not affect the team because we have another equally experienced assistant coach in Mandla Ncikiza, who will continue assisting Steve.

"One of the things that we are planning to do is to set up a fully fledged academy that will help develop and produce our own players. There is talent in abundance here in the Free State."
