PLATINUM Stars have urged their supporters and the people of North West not to start pressing panic buttons after two successive defeats in the new Absa Premiership campaign.

Stars attacking midfielder Patrick "Chippa" Malokase is confident Dikwena will still challenge for the PSL title this season.

After starting the new campaign with a bang by walloping Moroka Swallows 3-1, Stars went on to lose 2-1 to Bloemfontein Celtic and 4-1 to Ajax Cape Town.

Stars players and technical staff members had a meeting this week for a postmortem after their big defeat by the Urban Warriors and have vowed to arrest the slide.

Their next game is against out-of-sorts reigning champions Orlando Pirates.

The Buccaneers have also conceded six goals in their last two matches, losing 3-0 to both SuperSport United and Moroka Swallows in the MTN8 and the league.

"We are playing Pirates in our next game at home (the Royal Bafokeng Sports Complex on September 15) and there is no way Pirates will get a single point from that match," said Malokase yesterday. "I still believe we have what it takes to challenge for the league."

Meanwhile, Stars have joined forces with North West FM and Absa to raise funds for Kutlwanong School for the Deaf with a charity car wash at the Tlhabane GRTC (old BP Garage) on Saturday.

"September is deaf awareness month, so our players have decided to raise funds for the school," said Stars spokesman Aubrey Molobi.
