Orlando set to host Wafa Wafa final

FLYING: Swallows beat Sundowns to reach the final

THE 2012 MTN8 final featuring Moroka Swallows and SuperSport United is expected to be played at Soweto's Orlando Stadium on Saturday, September 22.

The matter was discussed by the Premier Soccer League cup committee at a meeting in Johannesburg this week.

A decision was taken to play the eagerly awaited match at Orlando Stadium, the rebuilt state-of-the-art facility that was once the mecca of South African soccer.

Matsatsantsa a Pitori and the high-flying Dube Birds are happy with the venue and looking forward to an exciting Wafa Wafa final.

Swallows booked themselves a place in the final of this R8-million winner-takes-all tournament after brushing aside star-studded Mamelodi Sundowns.

United ended Orlando Pirates' dream of winning this traditional season- opener for a record third successive season.

"It's going to Orlando Stadium, the meeting agreed that the venue is neutral for both clubs," said a source privy to the developments.

"I think the PSL will make an announcement sometime early next week where they will also talk about ticket sales and security arrangements."

The PSL and sponsors had initially planned to announce the venue yesterday but postponed it because of the Bafana Bafana team announcement.
