Altaaf Kazi says so long to PSL

After four years as media and public relations manager of the Premier Soccer League, Altaaf Kazi left his position yesterday.

Kazi, a former television journalist, joined the PSL in 2008 to take up the reins in the media department where he became instrumental in building the image of the league, particularly when the league was under the globe's watch going into the 2010 World Cup hosted in SA.

"There have been some great times over the years. It's been a difficult decision to make, but it is one that I needed to make," Kazi said yesterday.

Though neither Kazi nor Cricket South Africa spokesman Michael Owen-Smith would confirm it yesterday, it is believed Kazi will be joining CSA, which is in the process of rebuilding its tainted image.

"I cannot confirm any appointments as yet. We will do so at the appropriate time," said Owen-Smith.

It is believed Kazi will be joining CSA in the capacity of brand and corporate manager - a position vacated by Kass Naidoo who resigned from the post in March last year.
