PSL reschedules disrupted game

THE PSL match that was abandoned amid a protest in Umlazi on Saturday will be played at Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban next week.

"The Absa Premiership match between Golden Arrows and Black Leopards will be played at Princess Magogo Stadium on (Wednesday) March 7," the PSL said yesterday.

Less than 10 minutes of the match had elapsed when tear gas swept across King Zwelithini Stadium.

The players ran off the field, covering their faces with their jerseys.

The tear gas came from a violent protest by about 1500 people at a hostel nearby, which forced police to intervene. After the air had cleared and officials gave the green light for the match to continue, Leopards said some of their players were unable to resume play because they were not well. At least three players were hospitalised and officials postponed the game.
