Safa's Maforvane is in hot water

SAFA national executive committee member Mzwandile Maforvane could have landed himself in hot water by alleging Sascoc executives were enriching themselves with money from the Lotto.

In a letter to various media houses, Maforvane said: "It is a pity that he (Mahomed Mubarak - Sascoc board member) will go out without having investigated his colleagues at Sascoc, who are said to be enriching themselves and the codes they represent through the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund."

Maforvane was irked by a report in Sowetan on Friday that said Sascoc was investigating Safa for misreading the rules of the 2012 Africa Nations Cup, which led to Bafana Bafana failing to qualify for the finals.

Maforvane also said Mubarak had failed as Safa deputy president.

Approached for comment, Sascoc chief executive officer Tubby Reddy said: "I have seen the letter, we are going to have a look at it."
