FREE State Stars will be vying for their second win of the season when they welcome returnees and winless Jomo Cosmos to Goble Park on Wednesday at 3pm.

The Bethlehem-based side go into this match in high spirits after their 1-0 win over AmaZulu in Durban on Wednesday. In their opening match of the season two weeks ago, Stars played to a 1-1 draw against SuperSport United at Goble Park.

Stars general manager Rantsi Mokoena said: "We were unlucky against SuperSport after a legitimate goal scored from a set piece was ruled off-side.

"That is water under the bridge and we have already started preparations for the game against Cosmos.

"It has always been tough for us against them and we will not be misled by the fact that Cosmos have lost their two opening matches. We are going to be very cautious against them. Jomo (Sono, Cosmos owner-coach) has assembled a solid squad that will surprise many people.

"We are happy everybody is available for the game and we won't accomplish our mission of challenging for the league if we do not win matches."

The rest of Wednesday's fixtures are: Peter Mokaba: Black Leopards vs Golden Arrows (7.30pm), Athlone Stadium: Santos vs Ajax Cape Town (7.30pm), Moruleng: Platinum Stars vs Bloemfontein Celtic (7.30pm), Soccer City: Kaizer Chiefs vs Bidvest Wits (7.30pm), Lucas Moripe: Mamelodi Sundowns vs Moroka Swallows (7.30pm), Moses Mabhida: AmaZulu vs SuperSport United (7.30pm), and Harry Gwala: Maritzburg United vs Orlando Pirates (8pm).
