Mabizela, who has also played for Maritzburg City, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, is looking for a new club after he was dumped by Platinum Stars

FORMER Bafana Bafana skipper OJ Mabizela has arrived in the Mother City to train with Premiership outfit Ajax Cape Town.

The well-travelled Mabizela went straight to Cape Town Stadium on arrival yesterday where he joined the Urban Warriors’ players at training.

Mabizela, who has also played for Maritzburg City, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns,  is looking for a new club after he was dumped by Platinum Stars at the end of last season.

Ajax chief executive organisation  George Comitis said: “He will train with our team for the next week. The technical team will evaluate OJ and then we will make a decision.”

Mabizela has also played for English Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur and Vålerenga in Norway.

  • The Urban Warriors have also welcomed Angolan forward Antonio Correia who is training with the club with the hope of securing a contract.

Corriea comes highly recommended by the former Ajax coach, Foppe de Haan who coached Antonio from the tender age of 15 during his tenure at Herenveen FC in Holland.
