Chiefs, Celtic game washed out

THE eagerly awaited Premiership fixture between Bloemfontein Celtic and Kaizer Chiefs has been postponed to Wednesday after the match was disrupted by rain yesterday

Bloemfontein has been hit by heavy rains for the past two days. The rescheduled match will be played at 7.30pm.

Celtic's spokesperson Petros Augousti said they were now considering staging the match at the Free State Stadium.

"We had initially decided not to take the match to Free State Stadium because we did not anticipate a crowd bigger than 20,000," Augousti said.

Referee Jerome Damon decided to cancel the match after inspecting the condition of the pitch.

Spectators have been advised to keep their tickets for the match on Wednesday.
