Pila named for tryout in US's MSL

RISING soccer star Lebogang Pila continues to make headlines in the US where he plays for Saint Peter's College.

The 21-year-old has been included in the list of 54 senior college students invited for an intensive training camp in Florida from January 7 to 11.

The camp is for top college players and those who are impressive will be offered lucrative contracts.

Coaches from the Major Soccer League will attend the camp. David Beckham and Thierry Henry are some of the big names who are plying their trade in the MSL, where Doctor Khumalo once played.

"This is a great honour to be included in the list of 54 best college players in America," said Pila, the son of top soccer administrator Steve Pila.

"This will go down in my soccer career as the most memorable week after I was also nominated for the best US College Soccer player of the year award."
