SOUTH Africa will host the 2013 World Conference on Doping in Sports, the office of the sports minister announced in a statement yesterday.
"The Minister of Sport and Recreation Fikile Mbalula is over the moon after South Africa was yesterday declared winner in Canada to host the 2013 World Conference on Doping in Sport," the statement said adding that South Africa defeated countries like the United States of America, Slovenia and Russia to host the event.
Mbalula was quoted saying: "SA once again showed the world that we are the strategic partner in sport, politics, economic development and advancement by winning the bid."
He was thankful for the support SA received from other countries of the world.
