Netball team on the hunt

NATIONAL netball team coach Carin Strauss said they will use the Fastnet World Series in England next month to implement tactics they learnt from the Commonwealth Games.

Strauss said they had strategies to deal with the pace and long balls they faced at the Games that ended in New Delhi, India, last week.

"We were able to evaluate our strength and pace in the Commonwealth Games," she said. "Although winning the tournament in Liverpool is not our priority, our wish is to beat one or two teams and if possible finish among the top four.

"As we will only have our camp in England, we will rely on our players to be disciplined. Due to the injuries to Precious Mthembu and captain Liezel Wium, we need to bring in two or three new players."

The tournament, scheduled for Liverpool from November 19 to 21, will also feature England, New Zealand, Australia, Jamaica and Malawi.
