No time to relax, Chiefs fans told

Kaizer Chiefs are lying second in the voting standings with 31,952 votes, behind Mamelodi Sundowns who have 38,273.

KAIZER Chiefs' communications manager Thebe Mohatle has warned their supporters not to be complacent in voting for the Telkom Charity Cup, despite their strong showing so far.

Since the inception of the tournament 24 years ago, Amakhosi have never missed out on the season-opener and they look likely to make it again this year as they are lying second in the voting standings with 31,952 votes, behind Mamelodi Sundowns who have 38,273.

But Mohatle said: "Our supporters cannot afford to be arrogant and complacent.

"Qualification for the tournament is not automatic and it's important that they vote for us because it would be a tragedy if we don't make the final four teams."

He also tugged at supporters' heartstrings.

"Our supporters must not only consider the entertainment at the stadium. As a big club, we have the responsibility to give back to our society and that is why we are pleading with our fans to continue voting for us," Mohatle said.

"This also gives us an opportunity to play at this historic stadium and it would be nice to be there in our 40th year."

Orlando Pirates were third on the charts with 26,823 votes.

Mpumalanga Black Aces were fourth with 19,030 and Ajax Cape Town completed the top 10 with 232 votes.
