GHANA'S top football official says the tough disciplinary code that almost resulted in star midfielder Sulley Muntari being sent home has helped to ensure the Black Stars are Africa's last contender at the World Cup.
Muntari, who abused Ghana's coach after a group stage draw with Australia, appeared only in the closing minutes of Ghana's 2-1 second-round victory over the United States on Saturday, which clinched a quarterfinal spot.
Despite Muntari being a Champions League winner with Inter Milan, Ghana refuse to tolerate any player misconduct.
Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi says "having discipline dovetails into the performance of the team".
