THE ANC is using the strategy of "If you starve them they will join you" very successfully and unashamedly.
Victims of this strategy give ridiculous reasons for having left their parties for the ANC. Floor crossers also don't give the real reasons that motivated them, which is greed and egotism. They are just like the people who went to Robben Island as PAC members and followers of its founding president Mangaliso Robert Sobukwe.
They are afraid to mention his name and to say he was an icon because they are afraid to affect the sensibilities of the country's rulers, who regard the status of an icon as Nelson Mandela's exclusive preserve.
Anybody who wants to join the ANC should feel free to do that without talking gobbledygook.
