EXPERIENCED Springbok Sevens player Mzwandile Stick is eager to help the South Africans to a strong showing in this weekend's London leg of the IRB Sevens World Series. The Boks have had a dismal season.
"We set high standards for ourselves this year and we hope to do well in London. Generally we are not happy with our performances so far this year," he said. "But all is not lost because we managed to blood some exciting youngsters who really had an impact on the team."
Stick, Neil Powell and Fabian Juries have been recalled to the team to add experience for the last two legs of the series in London this weekend and Scotland next weekend.
The London tournament kicks off on Saturday, with South Africa taking on France at 12.36pm, Canada at 3.42pm and Fiji at 7.44pm in pool matches. The semifinals and final take place on Sunday.
