THREE teenagers have been arrested in connection with the violent clash between rival youth gangs in Durban outside a popular shopping centre last week.
The teenagers, some of whom are still at school and cannot be named since they have not appeared in court, went on the rampage on Tuesday leaving six boys with stab wounds.
The mother of one of the boys told Sowetan last week that she feared for her son's life.
The 18-year-old Newlands East boy was one of the victims of the knife-wielding teenagers and had to be rushed to the Addington Hospital with a knife lodged in his left lung. He was discharged this weekend in a stable condition.
Police spokesperson Noor Mahomed said the rowdy teenagers come from areas outside Musgrave. He said the arrest of seven other youths involved in the incident was imminent.
The police said the arrested boys had been charged with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
