THE South African women's rugby team will play two Tests against Kazakhstan next month to prepare for the IRB Women's World Cup in England from August 20 to September 5.

The first Test will be staged at the Al Ain Rugby Club in Dubai on April 4 and the second four days later at the same venue.

The Tests are bound to be thrilling affairs because both teams have qualified for the showpiece tournament in England.

The South African team assembled yesterday at Tygerberg Rugby Club in Cape Town for the training camp, which will last until Sunday.

SA Rugby has lined up two other away Tests against Scotland on June 5 and 12 to fine-tune the team.

In between the Dubai and Scotland Tests, the Lady Boks will be released to play for their provinces in the interprovincial tournament.

The next training camp will be held in Cape Town from May 24 to 30.

Blue Bulls women's rugby coach Pulane Motloung from Vaal will lead the team.

Former Springbok player and Lions Vodacom Cup team coach Khaya Malotana was appointed the backline coach.
