A MAN has been arrested in KwaZulu-Natal for possession of a heroin derivative called sugars, KwaZulu-Natal metro police said yesterday.
Members of the community caught him with more than 400 loops of sugars, worth an estimated R8500 on the street, said Senior Superintendent Joyce Khuzwayo.
Sugars is distributed in short lengths of drinking straws which are sealed at both ends.
"The powder is spread onto foil and heated with a lighter and the fumes are inhaled. The euphoria it gives is short-lived and the user will be wanting more within a short while," Khuzwayo said. - Sapa
