Khoza said they were concerned about the low level of team-specific tickets for Bafana Bafana, adding that South Africans should change their tendency to buy tickets late.
"Team specific-match ticket sales for Bafana Bafana are very low, which is uncharacteristic. But with the issue of the coach (Carlos Alberto Parreira) stabilised, we hope the situation will improve. Now we need to look at the the improvement of the team," Khoza said. "The psychological adjustment is an important element of readiness to influence the state of mind and confidence of the players.
"We need to show the world we are passionate about soccer by buying tickets now. We cannot afford to wait, because people from other countries are buying tickets for their teams.
"It will be difficult for South Africans to get tickets in general once the final draw of the tournament is done in Cape Town on December 4. We are working together to put up the greatest final draw," said Khoza, adding that they appreciated the support from the government in their preparations.
"It has helped to show that a great partnership between government and football can work. I think Fifa will take it as model going forward.
"Our government has helped us by ensuring all the 17 guarantees were delivered. The World Cup will also play a big role to balance perceptions about Africa.
"Right now people of the world know that South Africa has experts galore in construction.
"About 80percent of the workers at the World Cup venues are South Africans."
