Runner-up in last year's Lost City Cancer Challenge, Lange moved up one position and claimed the winner's medal and raised his number of career wins to 402 with an impressive time of 2hrs:18min over the 103km course on Saturday.
Speaking to Sowetan shortly after his victory in the majestic Pilanesberg mountain range, a modest Lange credited his victory to his teammates in the Medscheme team.
"Our team consists of six cyclists and we obviously work for each other. That's what team cycling is all about - working for your teammate. We were sitting pretty with about 15km to go and the conditions were favourable for the sprinters," said Lange.
The team victory comes hot on the heels of winners medals in the recent Tour de Soweto and the Cape Argus and goes a long way to establishing them as the No. 1 road team in the country.
Coming into the race, on an undulating surface, the team spent a couple of weeks training in the US.
